Artist's Comments

one of the three panels of a work for 'Wintercolors'
i found a story about the winter of 1963, when two friends, only 10 years old, drowned in the ice of a lake, while iceskating in that small town in Holland, Hellum.

When the father and the boyfriend of one of thems sister decided to go and look for them, they drowned too.

This is the first of three, some kind of an emotional memory, without seeing the details.

For those who understand dutch, the complete story can be found on [link]

And i want to thank the little help of my friends: Isabel for being the model and the photographer of the picture, and :iconsynaex: for additional stamping. And both of them for their help in concepting the thing

In the world of perfect imitations, the art is born from errors in duplication.

This series is facinating! I could stare for hours. I love the figures here and their blank faces. Memory is indistinct like that. It makes me think of the helpless feeling you get when you can not remember the face of someone lost.
:iconoldfashioned:
you say exactly what i wanted to become: people who stare at it, and layer by layer find new things in it (pitty it isn't bigger, to see the details).
And your definition about memories and those faces, I'm glad people see what i wanted to expose.
